World Cup Kitchen is a Serbian Cevapcici

This kebab like sausage originates from the Balkans and is considered the National Dish of Serbia and is also common in Slovenia. The ingredients differ from country to country but in essence it is a combination of minced meats and spices.

It can be served many ways such as in a flatbread, pita bread, with potatoes/veggies or as I have done it today as a snack in a sandwich in a bed of onions. Traditionally it is cooked over hot coals so it is also the perfect BBQ food.

Ingredients (makes 12 sausages)
200g minced pork
200g minced beef
200g minced lamb
1 egg white
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda/baking powder
2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
For sandwich: onions & fresh baguette

Cooking utensils
Garlic Mincer
Large Bowl for mixing
Non Stick frying pan

Preparation
- Combine all the minced meat together with the egg white
- Add all the rest of your spices and combine fully together.
- With your hands form into finger length sausages

Cooking

- Lightly oil a non stick frying pan and cook for 20 minutes on a low-medium heat until completely cooked through

Serve on a bed of sautéd onions and in this case on some fresh bread for a tasty snack

ENJOY!!!
